Turkey Hill Vanilla Bean comes out of Lancaster County, PA. I discovered it at Shopper’s and bought it specifically because it didn’t have any gums or artificial ingredients. I’m glad I bought it. It is spectacular. It’s much lighter and fluffier than most vanilla ice cream (especially compared to Haagen Dazs) but that also means it’s lighter in calories. It’s extremely creamy and I’m their new biggest fan.

I was just reading about Turkey Hill on their web site:
http://www.turkeyhill.com/products/ice-cream.asp
It says “We make sure that each and every ***half-gallon*** of premium ice cream lives up to the Turkey Hill name.” and then lists several of their flavors in 1.75 quart cartons.
I’m sure all guys who write comments are teens or even younger. If you are older, than shame on you!
Turkey Hill calls this product “Vanilla Bean / Philadelphia Style Ice Cream” It is good but it’s very sweet. If you get a chance, try Blue Bunny “Natural Vanilla” which to me approximates what the original Breyers Natural Vanilla used to taste like before Good Humor/Unilever started tinkering with and destroying the recipe in the mid to late 2000s. Although Blue Bunny’s don’t come in 1/2 gallon (yeah, what ice cream does these days!!), they do come in 1.75qts so it’s a bit much more than your wonted 1.5qts that are sold today.
