Why are you doing this?

See my About section for the long winded answer; but the short answer is that I love ice cream and I wanted an excuse to eat more of it and try new flavors.

How does your rating system work?

In all categories (Flavor, Flavor Intensity, Texture, Originality, Cone, Overall, Ease to make) ratings are given on a 1 to 5 scale with 5 being the best an 1 being the worst. The only exception is the Ease to make category where 1 is the easiest and 5 is the hardest to make. All ratings are totally subjective based on my own thoughts and feelings on the ice cream. Please comment and let me know yours.

How do you choose which ice cream to try?

I try to vary where I get the ice cream (supermarket, ice cream shop, homemade recipe). When I’m actually there deciding I just go with whatever sounds good at the moment. If there’s a special ice cream or flavor of the day I will usually try to get that. And, of course, I have to make sure I haven’t tried that flavor/brand combination before.

How long are you going to keep doing this?

What kind of ice cream maker do you own?

I have a Cuisinart ice cream maker. I generally like it a lot. It’s a little noisy and it’s a pain to have to freeze the container 8 hours before I want to make ice cream with the electric ice cream makers, but for the price it’s a great buy. Eventually I’d like to buy one of the automatic freezing one but those are over three times the price of this one.
