REESE’S Peanut Butter Ice Cream Cups Review

by Ice Cream Maker Reviews on August 15, 2011

New flavors of ice cream always appear in the height of summer.  This summer at my local ice cream shop I tried hot brown sugar. It’s brown sugar with a hint of Chile pepper. It was different, but good.
In commercial offerings Breyers, Klondike, Popsicle, and Reeses brands have put out several  new flavors.

They sent me a free coupons and one of the favorite treats I tried was a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup.
Here are my thoughts on the new Reese’s Peanut Butter Ice Cream Cups:

I was expecting little more intense peanut butter flavor but overall it was very good. It  was more of a subtle peanut flavor with a great chocolate coating. But, the peanut butter had a nice saltiness to it.  The texture was good.

What exactly are the bars?  They are peanut butter ice cream, with peanut butter swirl, inside a milk chocolate coating.

The biggest downside – the size. With only six to a box they were gone from our freezer within three days – I would buy it again!  But I think Magnum bars still get the top reward for best ice cream bar in my book.
Other new flavors you can find in your local grocers freezer include

  • Breyers Blasts! line, which features delicious mix-ins from America’s best-loved candy and cookie brands blasted into every bite.
  • Klondike varieties such as the new Mint Chocolate Chip bar and What the Fudge? Brownie sandwich.
  • Popsicle offerings include Jolly Rancher Awesome Twosome and AirHeads ice pops are colorful and bursting with the same bold fruity flavors that kids know and love from Jolly Rancher and AirHeads candy.

Have you tried any new ice cream flavors this summer?
