If you get a chance, try Blue Bunny "Natural Vanilla" which to me approximates what the original Breyers Natural Vanilla used to taste like before Good Humor/Unilever started tinkering with and destroying the recipe in the mid to late 2000s. Although Blue Bunny's don't come in 1/2 gallon (yeah, what ice cream does these days!!), they do come in 1.75qts so it's a bit much more than your wonted 1.5qts that are sold today.
